The Fischer Middle School Parent-Teacher-Student Association was officially chartered on February 19, 2009 with assistance from the Indian Prairie Parents' Council and Illinois PTA.
Fischer Principal Jennifer Nonnemacher and Fischer namesake, Greg Fischer, shared their enthusiasm for the school's future students and staff. They also expressed their appreciation for the community's support.
During the meeting, attendees voted to form the Fischer PTSA and set membership dues. After a short intermission to enroll new members, the charter membership voted to elect officers and join IPPC.

Aurora Alderman Rick Mervine for Ward 8 presented the Fischer PTSA with a very generous donation to seed the organization's beginning.
The Indian Prairie Parents' Council also presented Fischer PTSA with generous donations from PTA/PTSA units across District 204 to support the future growth of this fledging unit.

The attendance area for Fischer Middle School in 2009-2010 will consist of areas bounded to the following elementary schools:
- Georgetown Elementary School
- McCarty Elementary School
- Steck Elementary School
