The Adult Seminar Committee hosts an event each school year geared toward parents to help them with aspects of their child's education.
In October 2007, the committee hosted:
Building Success!
Piecing Together Your Child's Path to Success
This parent workshop, presented in partnership with KidsMatter, a workshop to help parents to help their children plan their post-secondary education.
Two workshops were offered:
- Life coach, Diane Overgard of Family Impact, shared techniques for opening a dialogue with your child about his or her path to success.
- A financial advisor from Citibank shared ideas and answered the all-important questions concerning how to fund your child’s path to success!
More than 15 different trade, vocational and technical institutions, along with local two and four year colleges, were on-hand to speak with parents about what they offer. Counselors from District 204 high schools were also available to answer questions throughout the evening.
