The mission statement of the IPPC is to:
Educate its members and enable them to exchange information about local, state, and national issues that are pertinent to the education and welfare of children, while promoting adherence to the objects and basic policies of the State and National PTA.
The goals of the IPPC are:
1. To communicate by providing a forum for sharing information, ideas, resources, and results through monthly meetings, roundtable discussions, administrative reports, legislative updates, and various electronic media (i.e., websites and email) involving IPPC, the School Board, and the District 204 Administration.
2. To promote leadership and membership education within the local PTA/PTSA units by offering and publicizing available training opportunities.
3. To promote parental involvement in our schools by encouraging local units to learn rights given to parents/guardians under NCLB, to partner with building leaders to provide opportunities for parents/guardians to interact with students in the school setting, and to provide experiences that advocate adult education.
4. To work with the District 204 Administration and Board of Education to promote district-wide pride and cohesiveness.
5. To initiate action in matters of common interest within council boundaries, when supported by a majority of local units in membership.
