Dear Presidents and IPPC Reps,

The Unity Committee of IPPC would like to invite your PTA/PTSA to participate in our annual Winter Coat & Boot Drive!

Due to the increasing need for warm winter coats throughout our district, we will be collecting new or gently used, clean coats of all sizes, from Infant through Adult. These coats will be collected during the month of October and then distributed to the families in need within our district. Typically, schools who have students in need, will reserve donated coats prior to forwarding them to the district for additional distribution; however, they also have the option of sending all coats and picking up those they need during distribution times (this is handled by the school Social Workers/staff to keep the process confidential). Jason Altenbern is responsible for coordinating this portion of the program with school administration and social workers.

If you already have a similar program within your individual school, we are not asking to replace that program with the district-wide program. However, if you would like to join the greater effort to collect coats (even if your own students may not need assistance), we would appreciate adding your school to the district's list of drop-off points so that the District 204 community will have more locations available to make donations. Please respond by Monday, October 6th to let us know if you will be participating. Just email us at ippcpta@gmail.com and put "Coat Drive" in the subject line. If your school chooses to participate we will add your school's name to the flier that will be sent out via eNews. If you would like to limit your school's collection period to a week or two only (in October) that will be fine as long as the collection ends October 29 so we can get them to the families that need them in early November.

All items collected will need to be delivered from your school to the district's collection location on Thursday, October 30 between 10:00 am & 3:00 pm at Kendall Elementary School (Room 147), located at 2408 Meadow Lake Drive, Naperville.

If you are participating, we have attached a flier that you can customize with your school's information to make the process easier. A flyer listing all participants will be forwarded to all PTA's once it is complete.

Thank you for your support!
